FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Clemmons, NC – 65Medicare.org, a national, independent Medicare insurance brokerage, has announced the recipient of the “Senior Scholar” Scholarship. Linda Black of Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, is the recipient of the 2017-18 scholarship. This is the first year of the scholarship.
The 65Medicare.org “Senior Scholar” Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship that was created to assist an adult, age 50 or over, with paying for a return to college or a change in career path. The application process for the scholarship includes letters of recommendation, review of applicant’s community involvement and a thorough written application.
“Linda Black is certainly a worthy recipient of our inaugural Senior Scholar award,” said Garrett Ball, President of 65Medicare.org. “We had many qualified applicants, but Linda’s uplifting track record of overcoming challenges and passion for furthering her education so she can help others made her application stand out.”
Black will be attending Brandman University to pursue a BA in Legal Studies with the eventual goal of becoming a family lawyer so that she can help others in complex legal situations.
“I’m honored and grateful to be the first recipient of the Senior Scholar Scholarship,” Black said. “I also appreciate the vote of confidence. It’s rather daunting to be taking a leap like this at this stage of life, so it is encouraging to have this acknowledgment and support for my decision.”
